             Since 1971, Midlands Association of the Deaf (MAD) has been a non-profit, consumer advocacy organization serving the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people in the Columbia, South Carolina area.  MAD provides educational seminars on relevant topics, such as interpreting services, current technology available for the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing and advocacy issues facing the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community. MAD also provides a place for fellowship through many social events. Some of our past events include a New Year's Eve Party, Valentine's Day party, our annual picnic and a Christmas party. We strive to provide a family atmosphere so that the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community can bring out the whole family for our events.

             MAD is affiliated with South Carolina Association of the Deaf, Inc.
